Your Questions, Answered

  • How do I know if therapy is right for me?

You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people come to therapy for support with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, grief, trauma, burnout, or simply wanting a better understanding of themselves.

    How do I get started?

The first step is scheduling a consultation. During this conversation, we'll discuss what brings you to therapy, answer questions, and determine the best next steps.

What can I expect during my first appointment?

Your first session focuses on getting to know you. We'll discuss your concerns, goals, personal history, and what you hope to gain from therapy. This helps us create a collaborative plan moving forward.

Do I have to know exactly what I want to work on?

Not at all. Many clients begin therapy knowing they are struggling but unsure why. Part of the process is helping you gain clarity and identify meaningful goals.

  • What services do you offer?

HYNT offers individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, neurodivergent coaching, and consultations.

Do you work with children and teens?

We work with preteens, adolescents, and adults. Services are tailored to developmental needs and goals.

    What is neurodivergent coaching?

Neurodivergent coaching provides practical support for executive functioning, emotional regulation, routines, communication, self-advocacy, and navigating daily life. Coaching differs from therapy and focuses more heavily on skill-building and implementation.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Therapy focuses on mental health concerns, emotional healing, and clinical treatment. Coaching focuses on goal-setting, accountability, strategy development, and practical life skills. During your consultation, we can help determine which service may best meet your needs.

  • Are sessions in person or online?

HYNT currently provides services exclusively through secure telehealth platforms, allowing clients to attend sessions from the comfort of their own space.

    What states do you serve?

Services are available based on therapist licensure and state regulations. Please contact us to determine whether services are available in your state.

    How long are sessions?

Most therapy sessions are approximately 53-60 minutes. Longer sessions may be available when clinically appropriate.

How often will I attend therapy?

Frequency depends on your needs, goals, and availability. Most clients begin with weekly sessions and adjust as progress is made.

  • Do you accept insurance?

HYNT accepts select insurance plans. Coverage varies by therapist and state. We recommend verifying your benefits before your first appointment.

What if you do not accept my insurance?

Private pay options may be available.

    When is payment due?

Payment is due at the time services are rendered unless otherwise discussed.

    Self-Pay Rate Update Effective May 1, 2026

Beginning May 1, 2026, self-pay rates will be updated as follows:

    • Individual Therapy: $150 per session (previously $145)

    • Couples Therapy: $210 per session (previously $185)

Clients may choose to self-pay for a variety of reasons, including limited or no insurance coverage, out-of-network benefits, or personal preference not to use insurance. If desired, clients may submit their own claims to their insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Please note that certain services outside of standard therapy sessions require self-payment. These may include, but are not limited to, attending school meetings, writing letters on behalf of a client, conducting consultations, or providing services outside of scheduled sessions.

If you have any questions regarding this update, please get in touch with BayLee Mares at (706) 223-0908 or admin@heyouneedtherapy.com.

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership in care.

  • How long will I be in therapy?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients attend therapy for a few months to address a specific concern, while others engage in longer-term work focused on deeper patterns and growth.

Will you tell me what to do?

Therapy is collaborative. We may provide education, feedback, and recommendations, but our role is not to make decisions for you. Instead, we help you explore options and make choices that align with your values and goals.

What if I become emotional during a session?

That's completely okay. Therapy is one of the few places where you do not have to hold everything together. Emotions are welcome here.

    Is everything I share confidential?

In most situations, yes. There are specific legal and ethical exceptions related to safety concerns, abuse, neglect, or court orders. These limits will be reviewed during the informed consent process.

  • What makes HYNT different?

At HYNT, we believe therapy should feel human. We balance clinical expertise with authenticity, collaboration, accountability, and compassion. Our goal is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, challenged when needed, and empowered to create meaningful change.

What if I am nervous about starting therapy?

You would not be alone. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, awkward, exciting, and intimidating all at once. We strive to make the process as comfortable and transparent as possible, meeting you exactly where you are.

What if I do not connect with my therapist?

The therapeutic relationship matters. If something feels off, we encourage open conversations so we can address concerns, adjust our approach, or help connect you with a therapist who may be a better fit.
